The first Image to be released will be from his endangered 'Wild Things' collection. A Hono, or endangered Hawaiian Hawksbill Turtle is featured on hats, t-shirts, mugs & tote bags. The Turtle is an Aumakua, or totem ancestor to many native cultures, worldwide. It most often represents Mother Earth, or Grandmother Earth; meanings or hidden (Kaona in Hawaiian) qualities of intelligence, wisdom, persistence, & longevity of life. Along with the image of the Turtle flying in the clouds, will be a Hawaiian Saying MALAMA, Care For. A common saying in Hawaiian is Malama Aina, Care for the Earth(Mother). We must 'Care for' the Honu now endangered as our Planet & we are endangered. The Words a "Honu Planet," are imprinted with the Turtle Image, as well. Aelbert has received an award for his title poem on the Honu in his book Turtle Dance, awarded to him by the 'Hawaiian Society for Social Change.'The Honu Poem, is available for framing.
