Balsley has 12 years of experience in the nonprofit industry and currently manages global expansion for BBBSI. Prior to accepting her new position in 2004, Balsley served as the president and chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Colorado, Inc. While at BBBS Colorado, Balsley grew the agency into one of the top five BBBS agencies in the United States, serving nearly 4,000 children during her last year there. Gary Lutz, board chair of BBBS, applauded Balsley on her new position, stating that she "has done an extraordinary job of reaching out to the community ... Her work in the community has also earned her the respect of foundation leaders and othernonprofit executives."

Balsley has developed several programs including the School-Based and Sports Buddies Mentoring programs and has been a strong advocate for a national service delivery model demonstrating the impact of the School-Based Mentoring program. In particular, the School-Based Mentoring program encourages volunteers to spend one-on-one time with their mentee at a BBBS partner school on a weekly basis. This program is especially beneficial for children who are unable to participate in community mentoring programs and must interact with their mentor in a school setting. It has also strengthened BBBSI's connection to the business community, as many of the big brothers and big sisters involved in the School Based Mentoring program are corporate volunteers.

Balsley earned a master's degree in psychology, speech pathology and audiology from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City in 1980. She enjoys reading, appreciating art and nature and visiting museums and botanical gardens.

Big Brothers Big Sisters International is a global association that brings together all Big Brother Big Sister organizations. The first agency was started in 1904 and, in response to a research report indicating the need for worldwide service, BBBSI was started in 1988. BBBS is the largest mentoring program in the world and in 2006, it served over 280,000 children around the world utilizing the School-Based, Community-Based and Site-Based Mentoring programs.

Katherine (Kitty) Balsley joined Cambridge Who's Who as a lifetime member in May 2007. Tisc h, a Gold member of Cambridge Who's Who among Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs, is part of a powerhouse family of philanthropists. She is the wife of Jim Tisch and the daughter-in-law of Larry Tisch, who, along with his brother Bob, donated money to create the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, Tisch Hospital at the NYU Medical Center and Tisch Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Tisch has had 10 years of experience in education policy and currently serves as the vice chancellor for the New York State Board of Regents. She was appointed in 1996 and re-elected in 2001 and 2006 for five-year terms. The New York State Board of Regents is responsible for creating educational policy and law, assessing current educational systems, producing annual reports and handling legislative and budgetary propels. From 1887 to 1984, Tisch was a teacher at the Ramaz School and the B’nai Jeshurun School in New York City. She received an Ed.D. from Teachers College at Columbia University, a M.A. in education from New York University and a B.A. from Barnard College.

Tisch also has extensive experience in community service and philanthropy. She serves as the chairperson of the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty, which works with youth and families to provide housing, poverty programs and neighborhood preservation. She is also the former chairperson of Mt. Sinai Children’s Center Foundation, a board member for The Trust for Cultural Resources of the City of New York and an executive committee member of The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, the UJA-Federation of New York, the Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America, the United States Holocaust Museum and the Citizens Budget Commission.

Her husband James is President and CEO of Loews Corp., CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. and the former president of the UJA Federation of New York. The rest of the Tisch brothers are involved in many different avenues. Jonathan holds chief executive offer positions for various hotels, Tommy runs an investment fund and sits on the board of the NYU Medical Center and Brown University, Andrew serves on the board for PENCIL (a non-profit organization) and City Parks Foundation and Daniel, who manages another family fund, is active in Jewish causes and sits on the board for NYU.

With the other pageant winners, she participated in various community activities including the Southern Arizona Race for the Cure event.

Ella Thorp Ellis, a Gold Member of Cambridge Who's Who among Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs, is a widely celebrated author of young adult novels. Six of her works have been granted Honor Book citations by the American Library Association.

Ellis bases her novels on her real life experiences, which have been full of people who she can mold into characters for her stories. Ellis was raised in California by her parents, but after they separated, she was sent to live with a country doctor's family. Eventually, she would live with her father again, before moving in with her mother and even her uncle. Ellis was also diagnosed with tuberculosis as a teenager, a life-changing experience that influenced her writing. After being diagnosed, she spent much of her time reading adventure stories, especially the books of Carson McCullers and Anton Chekhov.

When Ellis married and became a mother of three, she moved to Argentina. While she was there, she wrote novels based on those who were missing from her life including her mother and younger brother. Even though the characters in her novels were initially influenced by people she knew, eventually they would take on a life of theirown. Upon returning to California, Ellis had also acquired a new set of experiences to inspire her work.

Her most recent novel, The Year of My Indian Prince (Delacorte Press, 2001), draws from her experience of spending three days in a sanitarium after she became afflicted with tuberculosis and has received amazing reviews. Other novels she has written for young adults include: Swimming with the Whales (Henry Holt, 1995); Hugo and Princess Nena (Atheneum, 1983), also published in Danish; Sleepwalkers Moon (Atheneum, 1980); Hallelujah (Atheneum, 1976); Where the Road Ends (Atheneum, 1974); Celebrate the Morning (Atheneum, 1972), a Junior Literary Book of the month; Riptide (Atheneum, 1969); and Roam the Wild Country (Atheneum, 1967), which was featured in Time Magazine's ten best juvenile books of the year.

Ellis has lectured in creative writing, novels and fiction at the University of California, Berkeley from 1987 to 1994, the University for Women Studies, Buenos Aires from 1981 to 1985 and San Francisco State University from 1974 to 1980. She has also served as a creative writing instructor at the University of California, Berkeley in 1972 through 1977.

Ellis holds a master's degree in english from San Francisco State University earned in 1975, a bachelor's degree in english and history from the University of California, Los Angeles earned in 1966 and coursework in sculpture from Cordoba University, Argentina completed in 1962.

Her hobbies include reading, gardening and traveling.

Chemtob's expertise is in divorce, matrimonial and family law. She has lectured on various topics including equitable distribution, trusts, estates, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, no-fault divorces, inheritance issues and spousal maintenance. Chemtob has also commented on high-profile celebrity couples going through divorce on ShowBiz Tonight. In 2006 she examined Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's split, and in 2007 she spoke about the divorce between Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. Schmidbauer has accomplished many audio visual production tasks as a specialist employed with the U.S. Army. In 2005, when he retired from the U.S. Army, he was recognized with the Meritorious Service Medal. Awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces, the Meritorious Service Medal distinguishes non-combat achievement or service. Meritorious Service Medal recipients are generally field grade officers, senior noncommissioned officers, and individuals who have displayed a level of service that warrants an award of such magnitude. To receive this award the individual must exhibit exceptionally meritorious service at that level of responsibility.

Mr. Schmidbauer presently works for the federal government with the Medical Department Television (AMEDD-TV) production department at Fort Sam Houston, Texas as a DA civilian.

Schmidbauer was born in 1961 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. In 1983, he received a bachelor of arts in communication and the arts and communication processes from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Upon his graduation, Schmidbauer immediately embarked in a lengthy career in television and media production, beginning with a stint from 1983 to 1985 for then ABC affiliate WLUK (which is presently a Fox affiliate). In 1985, he joined the United States Army and received training at Fort Dix in New Jersey.

Due to the skills he acquired as a civilian, Schmidbauer did not have to undergo advanced individual training to obtain his 84F MOS (Audio/TV Specialist Military Occupation Specialty). After the U.S. Army changed the MOS code structure in the '80s, he became a 25P (Microwave Systems Operator/Maintainer), and then a 25V (Visual Information and Combat Documentation Specialist). From 1985 to 1989, he fulfilled his first assignment as a combat videographer and combat pictorial detachment in Fort Meade, Maryland.

Between 1989 and 2005, the U.S. Army engaged Schmidbauer in a wide range of tasks and positions. From 1989 to 1992 he served as master control, technical director and cameraman for Southern European Broadcasting in Vicenza, Italy. From 1992 to 1993 he served as team chief of the Mobile Video Unit at Fort Irwin National Training Center. From 1993 to 1996, he excelled as an ACE Standard off-line editor for the U.S. Army Visual Information Center at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

His fifth assignment, fulfilled between 1996 and 1999, was as a forensic photographer for the Central Identification Laboratory at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii. He presided as a video production documentation instructor at the Defense Information School at Fort Meade from 1999 to 2002. His final assignment, fulfilled between 2003 and 2005, was at the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium operating the Army Medical Department Combat Camera Team at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Schmidbauer retired from the U.S. Army in 2005. For approximately 15 months after his departure from the military, he served as a news photographer, live truck operator and editor for ABC affiliate WBAY, operating out of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was also employed at WGBW radio station and affiliated with the AIESEC (Association for the International Exchange of Students in Economics and Commerce).

As an audiovisual production specialist for the U.S. Army Medical Department and School, Schmidbauer handles an array of productions with the purpose of recruitment, training, briefing and recording events for historical purposes. He serves as a camera operator, director and editor while reporting to senior producers. Additionally, he participates in meetings to discuss projects and target audiences, edits raw footage into final masters, oversees crews, videotapes interviews and photographs people on-site. Schmidbauer contributes to McNay Art Museum and volunteers for the Red Cross. In 2002, he was a contestant on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," where he won $125,000 answering trivia.

As the music supervisor for MTV, Hughes finds new music to air on television shows such as The Hills, Newport Harbor, The Real Orange County, The Real World and Road Rules. Each show requires her to find an average of 15 songs to use per episode.

Hughes attributes her success to hard work and a bit of luck. She has held positions at BMG Music Publishing, Universal Records and Dreamworks Records. One day, a friend who worked at a production company mentioned that her company needed help coordinating music. Thinking that the position sounded interesting, Hughes decided to see what the job entailed and accepted the offer. From there she worked her way up to music coordinator and then music supervisor at MTV.

Hughes identifies three reasons for being able to move from coordinator to supervisor so quickly: her knowledge of music, the risk she took by switching companies and taking on a new position and networking. In particular, networking put her in touch with the people who she needed to market her talent, skills and expertise to in order to obtain her current position.

Hughes is constantly listening to artists and seeking new talent at the Roxy and the Viper Room in Los Angeles. When she is not working at MTV, she is busy running her own company, Reflection Music Management. Hughes finds that managing bands, which entails band placement, finding record deals and producing music videos, allows her to have a deeper involvement in the music industry. She currently manages a 4-piece Indie rock band called The Royal Heist.

Hughes holds a bachelor of arts in entertainment business from California State University, and she is a member of the National Association of Record Industry Professionals. She was selected as an industry judge for the 7th Annual Independent Music Awards in 2008 because she is known as a music aficionado and industry influencer.

He joined the company in 1 999 as executive vice president and general sales manager. He comes from a lineage of people working in the film presentation industry (his grandfather opened the first nickelodeon in Orange, New Jersey over 90 years ago) and has consistently demonstrated aptitude and ability in raising film distribution company revenues.

Tuckerman received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Miami University in 1970. He began his career at the Music Maker Theater chain, where he stayed for 15 years overseeing the company's operations and construction of new theaters. He thrived there, eventually becoming senior vice president and chief operating officer.

Between 1986 and 1998, Tuckerman worked for Loews/ Sony Theaters, where he rose up the ranks to vice president, presiding over $300 million in film settlements. In 1999, he represented Atlanta, North and South Carolina and Florida as the head film buyer for the United Artist Theater Circuit's Southeast operation.

Since he has become the president of domestic theatrical distribution for New Line Cinema, he has overseen the domestic releases of the company's most successful concessions, including "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy," "Austin Powers" and "Rush Hour." His work with New Line Theatrical Distribution has resulted in the company taking home a bigger share of the market, from 6% in 2000 to 10% in 2003 - an outstanding box office sales increase.

New Line Cinema, established in 1967, is a multi-media company with the mission to create innovative, popular and profitable entertainment in the best creative environment. They are responsible for some of Hollywood's most recognizable franchises including "A Nightmare on Elm Street," "Austin Powers," "The Mask," "Boogie Nights," "Blade," "Rush Hour," "Elf," "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle" and "Wedding Crashers." Their biggest success, "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy," generated almost $3 billion at the global box office and more than $3 billion through merchandising and home entertainment. The company plans to release two films based on "The Hobbit," the prelude to "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy" in 2010.

New Line Television, the film company's television division, produced "The Real Wedding Crashers" for NBC. Other New Line Television shows include "Punk'd," "Big Brother," "The Amazing Race" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." New Line Cinema also partnered with HBO in 2005 to create Picturehouse, an independent films studio responsible for "The Prairie Home Companion," "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Le Vie En Rose."

Tuckerman is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the American Film Institute, Variety International, the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers and the Motion Picture Club.
He is on the selection committee for the Monmouth University Award for Communication Excellence . He is also the president of the Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts, a technical motion picture group.
