Cambridge Who’s Who Gold Member Tammy L. Klomps is the president of POWERBows, a cutting-edge hair bow manufacturing company. After little more than 10 years, she has secured a niche in the cheer and dance industry by providing young cheerleaders with a wide range of unique, vivid and vibrant hair accessories.

Prior to launching her company in 1998, Ms. Klomps worked as an accountant, and owned a bookkeeping business. However, she then realized that there was a need for appealing hair adornments for youth cheerleading squads. Soon after its formation, POWERBows expanded largely, becoming the leading manufacturer of custom-made competition hair bows and ribbons. While her expertise is in product design, as president of the company, she spends most of her time accounting, advertising, marketing, and meeting with clients. Her creativity and enthusiasm shine through in her products, which she has made available to the public through mail order with a fast turnaround.

Ms. Klomps feels she has become a successful entrepreneur because she maintained a love for her work since entering the field. She also feels that the company’s growth has been chiefly because she and her employees pay attention to client requests and artistic input. Her continued efforts to provide fashionable hair accessories to cheerleading and dance groups are driven by the excitement she feels when seeing her designs on teams from around the world.

Ms. Klomps plans to expand her enterprise further in the near future. The award-winning business-owner is the recipient of the Woman of the Year Award in the Custom Hair Accessories Manufacturing Industry by the National Association of Professional and Executive Women. She donates hair products to every special needs cheerleading team in the United States. Furthermore, she recently supplied the US Special Olympics gymnastics team with tailor-made hair accessories. She received an Associate Degree in accounting from Del Mar College in 1994, and is a member of the Organization of Spirit Industry Providers, USASS, the Texas Association of Business and Spirit Industry Trade Association. Ms. Klomps enjoys bowling and spending time with her children, as well as reading Texas Cheerleading Magazine and Cheer Coach & Advisor.
