David St. John-Grubb, owner and president of
Foodworks-International, was recently named Entrepreneur of the Year by Cambridge Who’s Who for his successful endeavors in the culinary development industry. As proprietor of an on-site research, development and culinary personnel training company, Mr. St. John-Grubb is providing valuable services for the cooking community. He has been commended for his display of business savvy and dedication to ongoing professional growth.
Mr. St. John-Grubb’s company provides cuisine-related training, menu management, recipe development and testing, and cooking demonstrations. With more than 10 years of experience in the culinary industry, besides overseeing the business operations, he also educates new professionals entering the field. Mr. St. John-Grubb has served as a chef in various countries, including South Africa, Austria, Australia, Hong Kong, Dubai and India. As an expert on food preparation, his professional training deals with nutrition, sanitation and cooking techniques. Additionally, he is known to consult others on business development.
Mr. St. John-Grubb was inspired to become a culinary professional because he recognized a need for teaching and mentoring services in the food service industry. He is a certified master chef, and in 1984, he earned a master’s degree in hospitality management. As a culinary professional with extensive experience in a broad array of markets, Mr. St. John Grubb is the recipient of numerous awards, including the KüchenMeister “Master Chef” designation in Germany, and a gold medal from the
American Culinary Federation. He also established the
Research Chefs Association, and currently serves as president of the Miami Chapter of the American Culinary Federation. Additionally, he is a member of Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs, an international gastronomic society.
He credits his success to his knowledge and experience, and hopes to obtain an international master chef certification in the near future. While he is committed to continued growth within the culinary arts industry, Mr. St. John-Grubb also enjoys listening to the radio, exercising and sailing. He volunteers through a local child nutrition organization, and the March of Dimes Foundation.
